Sharon is a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in working with individuals between the ages of 8 and 65. Her experience spans 15 years in domestic violence shelters, inpatient psychiatric units, intensive in-home settings with children, outpatient clinics, and school-based settings.

Sharon initially received a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice from Central CT State University but pursued a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from Southern CT State University. Specialized studies included both Eating Disorders and Child/Adolescent Mental Health.

Primary treatment methods are CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy) and Solution-Focused Therapy. Additional training includes Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Play therapy. Sharon has some experience working with those with an addiction, although this is not the focus of her treatment. Appropriate referrals can be made if needed.

Areas of specialty in treatment include anxiety, mild to moderate depression, school/peer stress, transition to adolescence, anger management, relationship with caregivers, work-related stress, marital strains, work/life balance, ADHD, time management/organization, college readiness, and transition to independence.
